number two'

With March soon approaching us (and that mean Autumn) the days of late night bbq's, beaches, sub burn and the luminous natural tan maybe coming to an end. But dont fret dear ones because if Global Warming plays out as if should then the heat will never leave the summer lovers. However, untill the days of 30 degree August weather, we Melbournian's have to rough it out for yet another freezing winter.
And what better to do that in but in fantastic clothing.

Your main investment (if you haven't already done it) is a black coat, preferably above the knee. This length will enable warmth but, ladies you pins will be visible and so will skirts, tights and dresses. I know that we are thinking a little bit further into the year but if you are able to get your hands on one now, you will save save save. Venture into shopping centers, and pick boutiques, trust me when i say you will be able to find a nice warm black coat that will cost you under $100.

Another must for any winter is the colour grey.
A big knit that can both be worn as a jumper or even a dress will be ideal for that day of shopping where comfort is a necessity. Team this with a pair of ballet flats, opaque tights (preferably black), pearls if you really must and a head band Blair Waldorf style. If you want to look especially hot, red heels, or patent black ones will work perfectly. This simple outfit can be altered easily, boots, jeans, tights (maybe floral) or a pencil skirt, heels, flats, chains, beret, lions and tigers and bears oh my! However the secret to get the best from of this outfit is to invest in a really good knitted jumper, so spending a bit of your hard earned mullah will be well worth it. Turtle necks are fantastic (think 'Poppy Lifton' in gossip girl), fitted or oversized, either way if the length is right then the outfit can be sexy but not skanky (3 inches above the knee).

Accessorize! Chains, scarfs, berets, earrings and pearls, get your hands on them. Also in this colder season, be well prepared with tights. Floral tights can be worked by daring but confident people, team it with the perfect white t-shirt (which every woman should have!) a leather jacket, and the cheap sneaker shoes you can pick up from Big W for $7. Add a scarf, bold black stud earrings or a head band and there you go, coffee with the girls.

And so my dear ones until next time, don't wear fake tan, remember the importance of thigh high black boots and it is okay to whip out the old pair of doc's every once in a while.
